The Story Behind Willye Leigh Photography
My photography journey is deeply rooted in family and legacy. Growing up in Kinston, NC, I was surrounded by the vibrant stories of my great-grandmother, Willye Lee Bell. She was a trailblazing businesswoman who owned one of the first Black-owned grocery stores, Bell's Grocery, in our community.
It's from "GG's" inspiring legacy that Willye Leigh Photography takes its name. Just as she captured the essence of our family's history, I aim to capture the beauty and joy in life's special moments through my lens.
Each photograph I take is infused with the spirit of my great-grandmother's entrepreneurial drive and passion for storytelling.
